Destiny

I saw you again at the political affair
Your man had got beat once again
When I brushed up against you, caught a smell of your hair
The faint scent of sage on your skin

I dreamed of a canyon of deep desert green
Where ravens and coyotes cry
The song that the wind sang comin’ down the ravine
Was soft, sad and dark like your eyes

Now we’re lyin’ here together
The dawn lights up your sleeping face
Has the path led here forever?
To this point in time and space?

Could it be
Destiny?

When I woke up this mornin’ and you were still here
Your head layin’ right there in my hand my hand
After all of the troubles, the trials and the fear
Now I don’t even know who I am

I hoped when you opened your eyes on today
You’d see all that you want to see
You’d look out the window, turn around and you’d say
That right here’s where you’re gonna’ be

Now we’re lyin’ here together
The dawn lights up your sleeping face
Has the path led here forever?
To this point in time and space?

Could it be
Destiny?

When I brushed up against you, caught a smell of your hair
